3 ways to get paid to speak about ANYTHING.

Q: What do Theta healing, life after death and horses have in common? (no this is not a bad joke 🙂 )

A: …they are all topics of talks that have made my clients a lot of money, and have positioned them as experts in their respective fields. (horse…field…maybe there is a joke in there somewhere!)

Can you imagine yourself confidently striding to the stage, lit up to talk about something you’re passionate about?

Picture it. You’re speaking beautifully and eloquently and everyone is having a great time listening to you – you’re touching their hearts and minds, and savouring every moment. When you’re done, you receive a raucous round of applause and several people approach you to tell you how much they enjoyed what you had to say.

Your talk has people queueing up to sign up for your services and buy your products.

After that, a booker approaches you and asks if you’ll speak at their event too!

This could be your new normal – whether it’s money mindset, spirituality, love and relationships, health or business (or anything else!) you’re passionate about sharing with the world.

Once you know the subject you want to talk about, TAKE ACTION on one of my 3 favourite ways you can get paid to speak about pretty much anything.

 

Here they are…

 

1. Put on your own event, speak for free, and offer a paid product/service at the end. (RECOMMENDED)

A while ago, I hosted a talk entitled How to receive 3K per month in your spiritual business. This was for spiritual / wellness practitioners who were just starting out. I rented a room in a beautiful hotel in Edinburgh and invited people to attend, free of charge. I spoke to the best of my ability and gave high-value content about how I received my first 3K  per month, and then I made an offer for private coaching at the end. The event was a success and I received 10 times what I had invested in running the event.

 

 

2. Create an amazing Speakers Resume and get it out there. ASK for the opportunities.

Not many aspiring speakers have a polished resume of their skills, experiences and professional achievements. If you don’t – it’s time to create one. And if there’s nothing pertaining to speaking on there, please revert to point 1 and put on your own speaking event. YOU should be prepared to take a chance on you before you ask bookers to do the same.

When you’ve created your Speakers’ Resume and you’re happy with it, make an extensive list of speaking opportunities and get your resume out there to whomever is in charge. If you have a showreel of you speaking, even better. I know it’s scary to put yourself out there, but if you don’t ask, you don’t get.

In 2013 I was given the opportunity to live in San Diego, California for 6 weeks. I created a resume and sent it to all the well-being / spiritual centres in the San Diego area. Two of them accepted my proposal to speak at their centres and it was one of the best experiences of my life.

When people see that you have spoken outside your home country this is great branding to position you as the expert. As a result of this mini-tour I booked SO MANY clients.

 

 

3. Speak Online

 

If you’re running a business and you’re not speaking online, you’re wasting an opportunity to connect with a massive audience. Everyone’s attention is on their phones, browsing social media, looking to consume content that’s going to ‘edutain’ (educate/entertain) them.

It’s free or very inexpensive to speak on Facebook Live and have it be seen by many of your ideal clients, and hosting your own webinar is still a hot way to create clients – it’s like putting on your own speaking event, only, you all can attend from the comfort of your home, in your pyjamas, if you so wish.

You get paid to speak online by making offers to your audience – it’s important that you do this, and that you communicate value to them consistently and ask them to work with you consistently. If you do, you can easily create a glorious income by sharing your true passion with the world.

So there you have it, those are 3 ways to get paid to speak about ANYTHING.
